The basic editorial concept of the journal is a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary approach to research and study of media and journalism, cooperation with domestic and foreign media experts and authors, advocacy for contemporary theoretical and empirical research and analysis of mass media and communication, and respect for scientific publishing standards. The aim and purpose of the journal are to contribute to the development of the theory of journalism in Croatia, to enable everyone who deals with the media practically or theoretically to publish their work in one place, and to make research results more easily accessible to domestic and foreign media researchers; develop a culture of media communication. The journal is intended for media researchers, professors and students, media professionals, and the cultural public who are interested in contemporary political, economic, and cultural changes in society in the media dimension. The journal questions media policies and regulation; the political, economic, and cultural role of the media in society; relations between the media and society at the local and global level; the influence of new technologies on mass media communication and society, the influence of the media on political culture and the development of civil society. We accept scientific papers in Croatian and foreign languages that theoretically or empirically investigate the media or other social discourses in the context of media communication and practice. To ensure scientific excellence, papers undergo a double anonymous review. The journal does not charge the costs of the review process, as well as, if the paper is accepted, the costs of publishing the paper.

Interdisciplinary Description of Complex Systems

The Journal INDECS is devoted to the field emerging rapidly as an intricate combination of theoretically and empirically well-founded scientific disciplines such as humanities, social and natural sciences, still enriched with novel elements and often surprising moments. The Journal publishes original, double-blind peer-reviewed, scientific contributions prepared as reviews, regular articles, and conference papers, brief and preliminary reports, and comments on published articles. INDECS is published bimonthly in online and printed edition. All published articles obtained two affirmative reviews prior to their publishing and representatives of their authors signed a declaration of following completely the ethical norms of scientific publishing. INDECS is indexed in the Web of Science Core Collection, EBSCO, EconLit, ERIH PLUS, Ulrich’s, and is publicly available on the portal and DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals; https://doaj.org/). The journal aims to contribute to this sparsely covered field, where metaphorical expressions about our world and its various segments subtly develop into concepts and further into well-defined, more quantifiable, measurable, predictable, and operable structures. In this sense, the articles included generally cover areas such as concept

development and modelling, as well as others that contribute to a quantification of impressions and henceforth to a deepening of understanding of human societies and other complex systems, including aspects of our environment. The Journal predicted audience are scientists and experts with a background in natural or social sciences, as well as anyone else interested in the description of complex, predominantly human systems.
